Blue Ridge AHEC partnered with the Healthcare Georgia Foundation to provide distance learning programs designed to support health professionals and strengthen services provided by nonprofit health organizations in Georgia. Distance learning utilizes health information technology to deliver programs in support of nonprofit health organizations that drive positive change in their communities, promote programs which improve health and healthcare for Georgia residents, and connect people, programs, and resources across our state.

Georgia’s Rural Hospital Stabilization Progress Report
The presentation will provide data driven outcomes resulting from the Rural Hospital Stabilization Program. Evidence will be shared from Phase 1 & Phase 2, as well as the current status of Phase 3. Georgia is leading the Nation in financially supporting rural hospitals in grant funded efforts to reduce costs, waste and improve patient outcomes and increased revenue.

During the 2014 Georgia General Assembly, SB391 was enacted to provide a tax deduction for uncompensated physician preceptors who provide community based training for Georgia medical, physician assistant and nurse practitioner students.
Objectives:
- Understand the physician requirements that must be fulfilled in order to receive the Georgia State Income Tax deduction
- Discuss the rationale for the newly created tax deduction commencing July 2014
- Distribute information related to the AHEC certification mechanism to appropriate physician preceptors
