The Executive Director works for its Board of Directors, a group of community health professionals from the region. The Executive Director collaborates with the Georgia Statewide AHEC Network, which includes the Program Office, located at Augusta University, and five other regional AHECs across the state. The Executive Director directs the staff and is responsible for the daily operations, budget management, and oversight of the organization.

Assistant Director & Clinical Training Coordinator
Mandy is responsible for all aspects of clinical training support at Blue Ridge AHEC. She provides assistance to advanced practice health professions students in finding community-based clinical preceptors and rotations in northwest Georgia, as well as resources and incentives for preceptors. Mandy also coordinates no-cost housing and travel support for students who are completing rotations in the 20-county Blue Ridge service area.

Kristie Washington, RN, BSN
RN Re-Entry / Continuing Education Coordinator
Kristie oversees efforts to retain healthcare professionals in the 20-county northwest Georgia region, through cultivation and development of relationships with various community partners. She leads and coordinates the RN Re-Entry Program, which is approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing to assist individuals pursuing reinstatement of licensure as a registered professional nurse. Kristie is also responsible for program design, development, implementation and marketing of continuing education programs for healthcare professionals and students in accordance with Blue Ridge AHEC’s goals and objectives.
Office Manager / Special Projects Coordinator
The Office Manager/Special Projects Coordinator is responsible for performing administrative staff functions and managing accounting operations for Blue Ridge AHEC. Elizabeth also coordinates educational events, special projects and community outreach.

Health Careers Coordinator
The Health Careers Coordinator works with elementary, middle and high school counselors, teachers and administration, college faculty, and health education personnel to develop and implement strategies which encourage students from the region to pursue careers in health care. With a focus on minority and rural students, the Health Careers Coordinator plans programs to increase students' awareness about health professions in the classroom, as well as through college and career fairs.
