The Executive Director works for its Board of Directors, a group of community health professionals from the region. The Executive Director collaborates with the statewide AHEC Network which includes the Program Office, located at Georgia Regents University, and 5 other regional AHEC’s in the state. The Executive Director directs a staff of approximately 5 and is responsible for the daily operations, budget management, grant writing, and oversight of the agency.

RN Re-Entry / Continuing Education Coordinator
Provide primary leadership and coordination of the RN Reentry Program. Provide leadership for program design, development, implementation and marketing of education / training programs for healthcare professionals, students and other key consumers in accordance with Blue Ridge AHEC’s goals and objectives within the 20 county service region. Responsible for retention efforts of healthcare professionals through identified projects including the development and maintenance of relationships with various community partners.

Health Careers Education Coordinator
Responsible for the coordination of recruitment activities in working with elementary, middle and high school counselors, teachers and administration, college faculty and health education personnel to develop and implement strategies for encouraging students from the region to health careers. With a focus on minority and rural students, the Coordinator plans health careers awareness programs including health career fairs. Other responsibilities include the development of a scholarship information resource center and seeking opportunities for scholarship development in the region.

Assistant Director/Preceptor Coordinator
The Preceptor Coordinator assists with quality community-based clinical training experiences for health care profession students, identifies and establishes clinical training sites and coordinates with academic programs, hospitals, and physician practices.
