Document Delivery
Journal articles can be difficult to find in rural areas. Blue Ridge AHEC provides document delivery for journal articles. If you are an active preceptor currently accepting students there will be no or very little cost for document delivery. If the document delivery fee is large, we may have to pass this cost to the preceptor. If this occurs you will be contacted before the document is ordered. If you are NOT an active preceptor currently accepting students there maybe a charge for requested documents.
Interlibrary Loan
Books, Videotapes, etc. may be available through interlibrary loan.
COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS
This warning applies to all persons who request document delivery services. The copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction, one of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purpose in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. Blue Ridge AHEC reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order, if in our judgement, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
