PRECEPTORS/CLINICAL TRAINERS

Our Blue Ridge AHEC Preceptor Coordination Department develops partnerships between college-level educational institutions and health care practitioners, providing support services for health care students, especially for counseling, clinical training and job opportunities. We are always looking for and welcome more great teachers to help us coordinate opportunities for students to receive quality clinical training opportunities.

Blue Ridge AHEC support

Blue Ridge AHEC provides support to health care professionals through networking, collaborative continuing education programs and learning resources including the following services:

  • Access to OVID, online full text medical journals.
  • Preceptor Development Programs (PDP) with schools of medicine.
  • Continuing Education Programs (link to Continuing Education Section) and collaborations with other organizations, as well as, networking resources for individuals in isolated areas.
  • Specialized library, learning resources, professional publications, and access to academic centers available to students and preceptors.
  • Computer and Internet training to help health care professionals access electronic medical resource materials.
  • Medical information search assistance.
  • Web Page information which includes continuing education information, activities and programs, links to resource materials, health care information, partner organizations, job opportunities and other helpful links.
